Shenyang, with a population of 8 million, is the largest city in Northeast China and the political, economic center of Liaoning Province. It is well known as a historical city with important links to Chinese culture. It is the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Shenyang Imperial Palace is only second to the Forbidden City in Beijing in its extent and preservation. The Natural and historical attractions in Shenyang combine to provide an enjoyable travel experience to tourists around the world. 

The beautiful campus of SIE is conveniently located close to public transportation which allows access to all parts of Shenyang. The campus itself covers 856,900 square meters, with 1,000 faculty members and more than 16,000 students. SIE is the only provincial institute that offers a Bachelor Degree in the power and energy industry in Liaoning Province.

SIE has established relationships with Red River College ( RRC ) in Canada, Murdoch University in Australia, Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain, and Vancouver Island University in Canada. SIE and RRC have maintained a close partnership since 1998. SIE and RRC co-established Red River International College in 2009, which is the only Sino-foreign cooperative education institute within the engineering industry in Liaoning Province. Now the college has approximately 1,200 students on campus and 10 cooperative programs.

Positions Available：  

 

Position 1: Associate Dean for teaching affairs        

Position description: Full-time        

Number of Vacancies: 1        

Duties:          

The Associate Dean is required to:        

nReport to the Dean of Red River International College;        

nOversee day-to-day teaching management to ensure normal teaching order;        

nProvide direction in discipline construction in joint programs;        

nProvide leadership in course construction and development by completing the professional teaching documents and data;        

nAssist with recruitment of instructors and orientation training;        

nLead teaching and scientific researches amongst the faculty;        

nParticipate joint program development and discussion;        

nOversee the overall success of the college measured by the students, teachers and industry satisfaction.        

Academic Qualifications:          

1. Capable of teaching academic courses in English;        

2. Preferably looking for applicants with masters or doctoral degrees, but willing to accept applicants with bachelor’s degrees from top tier engineering or Ivy League universities, with a background in electrical engineering.        

3. Applicants who obtained a masters or bachelor’s degree from universities outside of China are expected to meet at least one of the following criteria:          

-- Experience as principal of a secondary college who has developed and managed international education programs        

-- Experience in developing and practicing high level teaching projects, with an engineering background in thermo-dynamic power generation or electronic power fields.        

-- Experience with high level academic research.        

-- Have a minimum of 3 years of management experience at a college or university outside of China.        

-- Published a high level academic paper as the first author or academic works out of China in the engineering field.

Position 2：Associate Director of Language Training Centre

The Associate Director of Language Training Center is required to:        

nReport to the Director of Language Training Center (LTC);        

nOversee day-to-day teaching management to ensure normal teaching order;        

nProvide direction in language course construction and the teacher evaluation program;        

nComplete the pertinent administration documents and data;        

nAssist with recruitment of instructors and orientation training;        

nLead teaching and scientific researches amongst the faculty;        

nSupervise teaching quality assurance of LTC;        

nProvide leadership in continuous improvement of the reputation and the overall success of LTC.        

 

Academic and Personal Qualifications:          

1. Native English speaker, preferably from the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia or New Zealand;        

2. ESL/TESOL/TEFL certificate;        

3. Looking for applicants with a master degree or higher;        

4. A minimum of 5 year experience of language teaching at the college or university level;        

5. A minimum of 1 year experience of teacher management in language training center; experience in developing program, managing teaching affairs and training instructors;

2. A minimum of 2 year English teaching experience;        

3. Preferably looking for the applicants who have experience in language training center management or, developing courses for language training centers or, high level academic research or, developing and managing international teaching programs.

Basic Qualifications:          

1. For applicants applying for either engineering position, we are preferably looking for candidates to possess a masters degree or higher, but are willing to accept candidates with a bachelor degree from a top foreign university.        

2. For applicants applying for the hospitality and tour management position, we are looking for candidates to possess a masters degree or higher from universities outside of China.        

3. A minimum of 1 year teaching experience in universities or colleges abroad;
